With the severity and rise of COVID-19, in-person lectures/ classes were immediately moved online. Reality has not completely set in for me yet. School, jobs, and businesses have shut down until further notice, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. It feels as though every time I open my laptop, or turn on my phone, people are sharing their thoughts and concerns about our current state. With that being said it is important to stay positive as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel!
Moving forward, this week’s lecture is centered around marketing, advertising, and monetization. I have listed definitions/examples of each below!
Marketing: is an activity, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large- American Marketing Association, In this case, an example of marketing that would benefit my blog/brand would be to pinpoint my audience, what the demographics are, and promote products/ services that would best suit/reflect my brand.
Advertising: Is a form of communication in which a product or service is promoted to the public. An example of advertising would be my Instagram account, where I post content in relation to my blog and remind my followers when new posts are live on my blog.
Monetization: Is the process whereby revenue/money is earned from a company or asset. If I were to start a Youtube channel and add advertisements to the start of my videos, I would earn money for promoting other businesses from Youtube.
